TH9 Progression Plan

Practical, offense-first guidance

The objective at this level

Coordinate three heroes and an X-Bow era without starving the Laboratory

Town Hall 9 adds the Minion Prince, X-Bow, Baby Dragon, Witch, Lava Hound, Jump, Freeze, Haste, and Skeleton Spells, plus the Lab Assistant. That is a large jump in hero, army, and base complexity. The useful approach is to establish one dependable farming and war army, schedule hero downtime around it, and choose X-Bow modes based on the threats your layout is meant to handle.

Written by Patrick Nguyen. Reviewed against ClashVault dataset v1.3.1. This sequence is a flexible default: keep upgrades that improve your regular army ahead of optional defensive polish.

Priority 1

Laboratory, Army Camps, Clan Castle, and spell access

TH9 opens several viable armies. Capacity and research let one of them become usable quickly instead of leaving a collection of low-level unlocks.

Priority 2

Queen, King, and Minion Prince schedule

Define which hero is essential to your current army and stagger downtime when possible. The goal is continuous progress without making every planned attack unusable.

Priority 3

X-Bows and core layout coverage

X-Bows reshape the defensive core. Their mode and placement should support Air Defense, splash coverage, and likely paths rather than simply occupy the center.

Suggested builder sequence

  1. Start Laboratory, Camp, Clan Castle, and spell-building upgrades, then begin research for one TH9 army.
  2. Place the Minion Prince and create a repeatable hero rotation based on the heroes that army requires.
  3. Use the Lab Assistant consistently on the research bottleneck instead of changing targets without a plan.
  4. Build X-Bows and position them with intentional modes, then upgrade Air Defense, splash, and high-impact traps.
  5. Complete secondary armies, remaining defenses, heroes, collectors, and walls after the primary attack is dependable.

Ready to advance when

  • At least one TH9 army has current troops, spells, Clan Castle capacity, and a clear hero requirement.
  • Hero upgrades follow a schedule rather than consuming Dark Elixir whenever a random builder becomes free.
  • X-Bow modes match the layout's air and ground weaknesses and are protected by overlapping defenses.
  • Laboratory research has remained active and the Lab Assistant is assigned to a meaningful bottleneck.

Data Methodology

Dataset v1.3.1

What these levels mean

Each number is the highest level that entity can reach while your Home Village is Town Hall 9. It is a reference ceiling, not an upgrade-priority ranking or a snapshot of one player’s base.

Hero Equipment rows show the tracked upgrade ceiling for each rarity at TH9; they are not an ownership or unlock list. Common equipment depends on Blacksmith progression, while Epic equipment and later reward-track items can use separate acquisition paths. Confirm ownership and availability in game before planning ore.

How we maintain the dataset

ClashVault maps entity IDs from real player exports, then checks level caps against update notes, in-game observations, and established community references. The current dataset was reviewed on .

Coverage limits at Town Hall 9

The ledger includes Home Village entities whose game ID and Town Hall cap are both mapped and reviewed. It is not a claim that every live game entity is covered.

  • Lab Assistant: The max-level row is tracked, but public catalog provenance is not yet complete.
  • Helper Hut: Unlocks at Town Hall 9; excluded until a verified entity data ID is available.
