TH5 Progression Plan

Practical, offense-first guidance

The objective at this level

Make spells part of the army instead of an afterthought

Town Hall 5 adds the Spell Factory and Lightning Spell alongside Wizard, Wizard Tower, and Air Bomb. Offense is no longer only a troop-selection problem: spell timing and placement now affect whether an attack reaches the core. Build that new offensive layer early, then strengthen splash and air defense.

Written by Patrick Nguyen. Reviewed against ClashVault dataset v1.2.0. This sequence is a flexible default: keep upgrades that improve your regular army ahead of optional defensive polish.

Priority 1

Spell Factory

Unlocking and upgrading Lightning Spell adds damage that can be placed anywhere. Learn its current effect through practice instead of carrying unused spell capacity into attacks.

Priority 2

Laboratory, Army Camp, and Barracks

Research, capacity, and Wizard access reinforce one another. Keeping all three moving produces a larger improvement than an isolated defensive level.

Priority 3

Wizard Tower and Air Defense

Wizard Tower adds short-range splash coverage while Air Defense handles dedicated air threats. Give them overlapping support without placing every important defense in one easy group.

Suggested builder sequence

  1. Build the Spell Factory and begin practicing Lightning Spell while its Laboratory research progresses.
  2. Upgrade Laboratory and Army Camp, then raise Barracks for the TH5 troop ceiling and Wizard access.
  3. Improve the Clan Castle and storages before resource caps block the next offensive upgrade.
  4. Add Wizard Tower and Air Bomb coverage, then bring Air Defense and existing defenses forward.
  5. Complete collectors, traps, and walls after the troop-and-spell army is functional.

Ready to advance when

  • Every regular attack uses spell capacity deliberately rather than leaving it empty.
  • The primary army's troops and Lightning Spell have received their planned research.
  • Army Camp, Barracks, Laboratory, and Spell Factory are at their TH5 ceilings.
  • Wizard Tower and Air Defense protect different approaches while supporting the base core.

Data Methodology

Dataset v1.2.0

What these levels mean

Each number is the highest level that entity can reach while your Home Village is Town Hall 5. It is a reference ceiling, not an upgrade-priority ranking or a snapshot of one player’s base.

How we maintain the dataset

ClashVault maps entity IDs from real player exports, then checks level caps against update notes, in-game observations, and established community references. The current dataset was reviewed on .
