Clash of Cards Event Guide: Packs, Trading, and Rewards

Collect all 60 Clash of Cards with a source-reviewed pack checklist, duplicate strategy, clan-trade and Trader comparisons, rewards, deadlines, and late-start plan.

The Clash of Cards event runs from August 1 through August 31, 2026 for Town Hall 3 and above. The objective is to collect 60 different troop cards, use duplicates in clan trades or Trader exchanges, and claim collection rewards. The final deadline matters: Supercell says the trading window closes on September 2 at 08:00 UTC. Do not wait until that morning to organize the last trades.

The shortest useful plan is:

  1. Claim the tutorial pack and clear the battle packs available to you.
  2. Check the Trader for free packs on August 4, 11, and 18.
  3. Claim free opportunities from the Supercell Store, the free Awesome Medal Event track, and official social drops when they appear.
  4. Keep one copy of every card. Use additional copies for one-for-one clan trades before spending two or three duplicates at the Trader.
  5. Arrange final clan trades while both players are online, then finish claims before September 2 at 08:00 UTC.

Reviewed August 3, 2026: Event dates, pack sources, trading rules, exchange rates, and rewards in this guide were checked against Supercell's Clash of Cards Event announcement and The Awesome Quest Is Here August calendar. ClashVault calculations and recommendations are labeled separately. Live game behavior can change after publication, so verify the event panel before spending Gems or duplicates.

For the rest of the month's activities, read the August 2026 events calendar guide, then use the live event planner to check current status. This guide stays focused on finishing the card collection rather than repeating every August event.

The target is 60 different cards, not 60 total openings. A player with 45 unique cards and 30 duplicates is still at 45 of 60 for the full-collection reward. That distinction should control every exchange decision.

Free card-pack checklist

Supercell lists several free sources, but it does not publish a fixed quantity for all of them. Track the known opportunities first and treat any unannounced pack as a bonus.

The official Card Hunt description says players can earn two packs per day in battle, have a total of ten available from the start, and obtain up to 68 cards from battles alone. Those phrases do not produce a safe reason to rewrite the schedule with our own reset formula. ClashVault therefore uses Supercell's stated maximum of 68 instead of promising that a particular login pattern creates a different total.

ClashVault arithmetic: up to 72 quantified opportunities

Three official quantities can be added without estimating unpublished sources:

  • up to 68 cards from battle packs;
  • 1 tutorial pack;
  • 3 dated free Trader packs.

That is up to 72 explicitly quantified card opportunities: 68 + 1 + 3 = 72. This is ClashVault arithmetic based on the official source list, not a Supercell completion guarantee. It also excludes the unquantified Store tasks and offers, Awesome Medal Event free-track packs, and official social drops.

Even 72 openings would not guarantee all 60 unique cards. Packs can produce duplicates, rarities differ, and Supercell has not published the drop distribution needed for a defensible completion-probability calculation. The practical conclusion is not "72 is enough." It is "claim every known free source, then manage duplicates deliberately."

How battle packs work

During the Card Hunt, a battle can contain a building marked with a card-pack indicator. The official announcement says to destroy that building to earn the pack, but it does not state whether the overall raid must also be won. Treat reaching the marked building as the immediate event objective, then confirm the live result before assuming a lost raid awards the pack.

That does not mean every army should be rebuilt around one event building. Use an army that can reliably reach varied locations while still supporting your normal farming or trophy goal. If the marked building is exposed, secure it early. If it is deep inside the base, decide whether the expected card is worth the army and time before committing the entire attack.

Judo Sloth's creator preview reports that unclaimed battle opportunities can stack. Supercell's written announcement does not confirm that behavior, so treat it as a preview observation and check the live Card Hunt counter before relying on a backlog. Even if the live game allows stacking, late collection leaves less time to turn duplicates into the missing cards you actually need.

Use this repeatable check after each opening:

  1. Mark the card as new or duplicate.
  2. If new, update the unique-card total.
  3. If duplicate, record the card name and total copies.
  4. Do not count the first copy as tradable.
  5. Review trade options only after the day's available packs are opened.

Opening first and trading second reduces the chance of requesting a card that the next free pack would have supplied.

Unique cards versus duplicates

The collection screen distinguishes an owned single copy from additional copies. Your first copy stays in the collection and cannot be traded away. If you own three copies of one card, only two are duplicates. If you own four copies, three are duplicates.

This produces two useful inventory numbers:

  • Unique count: progress toward 60 and the milestone rewards.
  • Tradable duplicate count by card: the inventory available for a clan trade or Trader exchange.

Do not collapse those into one total. "I have 70 cards" does not say whether the account has 60 unique cards, and "I have 10 duplicates" does not say whether any one card meets a Trader exchange rate. Trader requires duplicates of the same card, so five different cards with one duplicate each cannot be combined into the listed exchange.

A simple note can prevent mistakes:

Example A110
Example B211
Example C312
Example D413

The names above are placeholders, not a drop table. Record the actual cards shown in your collection.

Clan trade or Trader Shop?

Use clan trading when it can exchange one duplicate for a missing card. Use the Trader when the clan cannot supply a useful match, time is running out, or a pile of repeated copies has no better one-for-one destination.

Why clan trades usually come first

A successful clan trade can turn one duplicate into a specific missing card. The normal Trader exchanges consume two duplicates of the same card for one random card in the chosen general or resource category. The Super Troop exchange consumes three duplicates of the same card for a random Super Troop card.

That makes a matched clan trade more inventory-efficient. It also helps another collector. The limitation is coordination: Supercell states that, at release, both clanmates must be online to complete a trade. Supercell also says it is looking to change that behavior, so this guide will not present the launch limitation as a permanent rule.

Plan a time when both players can open the game. Put the agreed card names in clan chat before sending the request, confirm that each side has a tradable duplicate, and complete the match before either player spends the relevant duplicate at the Trader.

Requests have a cooldown similar to Clan Castle requests. Supercell says the cooldown can be skipped with Gems. A creator preview showed a Gem-priced interaction on a development build, but a development interface is not an official live-price confirmation. ClashVault deliberately does not publish that preview price. Read the exact in-game confirmation before spending.

Trader exchange rates

What you spendWhat the official post says you receiveMinimum total copies of the spent card
2 duplicates of the same card1 random card3
2 duplicates of the same card1 random Elixir card3
2 duplicates of the same card1 random Dark Elixir card3
2 duplicates of the same card1 random Builder Base card3
3 duplicates of the same card1 random Super Troop card4

The minimum-total column is ClashVault's explanation of the official keep-one-copy rule. Two tradable duplicates require three total copies; three tradable duplicates require four total copies.

Choose a category based on the missing set, not the color of the duplicate being spent. The exchange produces a random result within the listed outcome. It does not guarantee a card you do not own. If two categories are incomplete, prefer the one where a completed set produces a reward you will actually use, but keep the full 60-card goal in view if the Manga Fury Prince skin is the objective.

All confirmed collection rewards

Supercell separates full-set rewards from total-unique-card milestones.

10Book of Cards decoration
205,000 Shiny Ore
30500 Glowy Ore
4050 Starry Ore
502 Builder Potions
60Manga Fury Prince skin

The Book of Cards decoration at 10 unique cards is not the same object as the Clash of Cards decoration used to reopen the collection. Supercell describes the latter as the permanent collection access point available from the event. Keeping those two decorations separate avoids a misleading claim that collection access begins only after the 10-card milestone.

Ore rewards should enter a plan, not disappear into whichever upgrade is highlighted first. The ClashVault Ore Calculator compares current and target equipment levels across Shiny, Glowy, and Starry Ore. It does not choose a loadout for you, but it can show whether the 20-, 30-, or 40-card reward closes a real equipment threshold.

A practical daily plan

The best routine is short enough to repeat:

  1. Check currently available battle packs. Clear the marked-building opportunities the live event panel shows.
  2. Open before exchanging. A free opening may solve yesterday's missing-card request.
  3. Update the unique count. Compare it with the next reward threshold.
  4. Record duplicate stacks. Only copies beyond the first are available.
  5. Check current free sources. Look at the Trader on its three dates, the official Store task area from August 3-30, the free medal track from August 12-31, and official social channels.
  6. Arrange specific clan trades. Ask for a card you lack and offer a duplicate the other player needs.
  7. Delay random exchanges when a known trade is plausible. Trader remains the fallback for stranded duplicate stacks.

You do not need to stare at the event all day. A consistent check after the game's daily reset, followed by one coordinated clan-trade window, is easier to maintain than a last-week scramble. Confirm the live reset indicators in game because the official posts do not provide a universal local-time schedule for every player's routine.

Weekly checkpoints

August 1-3: Complete the tutorial, start the battle hunt, and learn which categories are missing. Check the official Store task area when its August 3 window begins. Avoid burning early duplicate stacks merely to make the inventory look tidy.

August 4-10: Claim the August 4 Trader pack. Begin specific clan trades once duplicates and missing cards are clear. The broader August 2026 events calendar guide explains the other activities, while the live event planner shows current status. Keep card tasks separate from unrelated event timers.

August 11-18: Claim the August 11 and August 18 Trader packs. From August 12, collect card packs shown on the free Awesome Medal Event track. This is the first strong review point: identify which complete-set reward is closest and which categories still need targeted trades.

August 19-25: Free Trader dates are over. Continue battle opportunities, Store tasks or offers while available, free medal-track progress, official social drops, and clan trades. Preserve duplicate stacks that can answer an agreed request.

August 26-30: Start closing known one-for-one trades. The official Store window ends August 30, so review its free tasks and offers before that date. Do not assume an unclaimed Store opportunity will remain after the published window.

August 31: Treat this as the event-ending day, not the ideal day to start. Clear remaining event opportunities and create a written list of missing cards, usable duplicate stacks, and available clan partners.

September 1 to September 2 at 08:00 UTC: Use the extra trading window for final coordinated trades and carefully chosen Trader exchanges. Claim visible rewards. Verify the in-game countdown rather than converting UTC from memory.

Late-start recovery plan

A late start changes priorities but does not justify unsupported shortcuts.

If you start before August 18

Claim the battle packs currently shown in game, complete the tutorial, take any still-available dated Trader pack, and check current Store and medal-track opportunities. Open the available packs before posting clan requests. Enough event time remains to learn which duplicates are truly stranded.

If you start from August 19-30

Focus on the battle opportunities the live event panel shows, current Store tasks through August 30, the free medal track, and organized clan trades. The three scheduled free Trader pack dates have passed, so do not claim they are still available unless the live Trader explicitly shows an offer. Build a missing-card list by category before using random exchanges.

If you start on August 31

Clear what the game still presents, then prioritize confirmed one-for-one trades. Coordinate a time when both clanmates are online. Do not spend Gems or duplicates because a creator video showed a particular development-build state. Read the live confirmation screen and protect the first copy of every card.

If the main event has ended

Supercell says trading remains open until September 2 at 08:00 UTC. Use that window only for actions the live interface still allows. The official posts do not promise that every earlier acquisition source remains open during the extra trading period. After the cutoff, the collection remains viewable through the Clash of Cards decoration, but trading closes.

What this guide does not claim

Several tempting details are not established by the two official sources:

  • No drop-rate table. Supercell confirms rarities but does not publish the distribution required to calculate pull odds.
  • No completion probability. An up-to-72 quantified-opportunity total cannot predict 60 unique cards without drop rates and the player's trade network.
  • No guaranteed-new Trader result. Official exchange outcomes are random and can produce duplicates.
  • No fixed Gem price. A development-build creator preview is not evidence of the live price or a permanent price.
  • No unlimited-trade promise. The official post lists cooldown behavior but does not promise unlimited trading under every live condition.
  • No fixed Store, medal-track, or social quantity. Those sources are confirmed, but their total pack counts are not published in the scoped announcements.
  • No claim that duplicate counts remain useful after the event. Supercell confirms that the collection remains accessible, not that post-event duplicates retain trading utility.
  • No claim that the Manga Fury Prince skin will never return. The official posts identify it as the 60-card reward but do not establish permanent exclusivity.
  • No affiliate recommendation. This guide does not promote a purchase or affiliate relationship. Store references concern the officially announced free task and offer window.
  • No unofficial workaround strategy. The reviewed system is clan trading and the in-game Trader. ClashVault does not recommend workarounds that are absent from Supercell's event instructions.

The August calendar also lists the Awesome Medal Event, temporary Elephant Rider, Revenge Deck Epic Equipment boost, cosmetics, and other activities. Those facts do not establish card drop rates or equipment acquisition details. Keep each claim attached to the source that actually supports it.

Common mistakes

Counting total cards instead of different cards

Milestones use different cards. Track unique progress and duplicate inventory separately.

Trading the only copy

The game prevents this, but a manual checklist can still overstate available inventory. Always subtract the kept copy before planning exchanges.

Spending two duplicates before checking clan matches

A one-for-one clan trade is usually more efficient than spending two duplicates for a random result. Ask for a useful match first.

Assuming an asynchronous clan trade

At release, both clanmates must be online. A request left in chat is not proof that the exchange will complete later without coordination.

Waiting until September 2

September 2 at 08:00 UTC is a closing boundary, not a full final day in every time zone. Finish trades earlier whenever possible.

Treating a creator preview as a live contract

Development builds can contain temporary prices, interfaces, or rules. Use creator previews to understand possible interaction patterns, then confirm the live behavior and rely on official sources for published facts.

Source methodology and update policy

This guide uses three evidence labels:

  1. Officially confirmed: Dates, eligibility, pack sources, the 68-card battle maximum, trading rules, exchange rates, rewards, and the post-event deadline come from Supercell's August 1 Clash of Cards article. The broader season timing comes from Supercell's July 31 Awesome Quest calendar.
  2. ClashVault analysis: The up-to-72 arithmetic, trade-first decision framework, inventory tables, daily plan, and late-start plan are original editorial analysis built from those confirmed rules.
  3. Creator-preview observation: Judo Sloth's preview is used for the reported stacking behavior and to identify a development-build Gem-price interaction. Stacking is labeled as unconfirmed by Supercell and must be checked in the live event panel; the preview price is deliberately not published as a live fact. No affiliate pitch, cosmetic showcase, or speculative event mechanic was carried into the recommendations.

ClashVault will recheck this page if Supercell changes the online-trading limitation or publishes additional pack quantities. After September 2, the guide should display an ended-event notice and be reviewed as an archive; it should not continue presenting acquisition steps as live. The event page itself remains the best place to verify current status, while this guide preserves the sourcing and decision method.
